On this self-guided tour through 12 private gardens in the Sanford Historic District, you'll meander down tree-lined streets and admire the well-preserved architecture, wrap-around porches, verandas, and manicured gardens where there’s always something blooming.

Savor the springtime weather and be inspired for your own yard projects as you stroll through gardens overflowing with flowers, native plants, and creative landscapes. Enjoy watching plein air painters and bidding on your favorite pieces of art. Learn from interacting with educational speakers on a variety of gardening, wildlife, and home topics. After the tour, spend some time finding the perfect Mother's Day gift in the vendor marketplace at Centennial Park, and enjoy iced refreshments and delicious lunch options. The perfect way to spend a day in beautiful Sanford!

Headquarters: Bettye D Smith Cultural Arts Center, 119 W. 5th St, Sanford FL 32771. On-site parking available.

10a - 5p: Gardens open. Pick up wristband and map prior to tour (119 W. 5th St).

9:30a - 5:30p: Shop our Vendor Mall in Centennial Park. Vendors will selling garden-themed gifts and plants just in time for Mother’s Day! Park is open to the public.

This is a rain or shine event, and children 3 and under are free.

Ticket ADD ON: Tea Lunch in the Park. Pre-purchase with your ticket HERE before TUESDAY APRIL 26th. Includes coronation chicken salad sandwich, cucumber & seasoned cream cheese sandwich, fresh fruit, homemade scone with clotted cream and jam, and choice of water bottle or specialty iced tea. Limited quantity can be purchased day-of at ticketing on first come, first serve basis  


Volunteers Needed!

The Tour is made possible by a team of volunteers and Trust committee members. Volunteers are needed for the day-of the event to hand out wristbands, provide directions and welcome guests at each garden. The shifts last 3.5 hours, and volunteers are welcome to enjoy complimentary access to the tour before or after your shift.
